Deck staining project using solid stain in driftwood using Sherwin Williams super deck. The home owners deck had not been stained in a few years and needed a good pressure washing and fresh stain applied. Upon pressure washing it was noted that the previous deck coating had been paint, not stain, which was peeling and having adherence issues. As a remedy to the issue we added a second coating of the solid stain to give it enough thickness to protect the underlying issue coat of paint. As a professional deck staining company we always suggest quality stains vs paints for our exterior wood projects. The reason being adherence properties and lack of peeling.
